- Students who complete this course will be able to convert existing OS/VS COBOL programs to COBOL for OS/390 & VM (formerly COBOL/370), and develop new programs using the new features of the language supported by COBOL for OS/390 & VM. In addition, the students will acquire facility with the COBOL for OS/390 & VM compiler.
- Audience
- Experienced OS/VS COBOL programmers who are converting applications from OS/VS COBOL to COBOL for OS/390 & VM. Those who are designing applications to execute in a COBOL for OS/390 & VM environment.
- Prerequisites
- The student entering this course should have 6 months recent experience programming in COBOL with at least 3 months experience using ISPF/PDF especially, the text editor and should be able to code JCL to run simple batch jobs.
